Clothes party ideas

So, we can throw our old and worn clothes away. We can also pack them up to our lucky local charity shop, but has anyone heard about people hosting a party for your friends who come armed with clothes they no longer want? Together you create a collection of clothes that you barter in exchange for others, thus refresh your wardrobe cost effectively - for once! I think this is a great idea and wondered if anyone had any advice on the pros and cons of such recycling?
